Single Mothers’ Family Breakthrough Project Completion Announcement

The Salvation Army Vancouver Community & Family Services is announcing the completion of the Single Mothers’ Family Breakthrough Project, partly funded by the Women’s Program (WP) of the Status of Women Canada (SWC).

This project was a three year program which delivered over 150 life skills workshops to a total of 39 single mothers during its duration.  The workshops were delivered in five major areas: financial literacy, home management, parenting enhancement, educational/vocational opportunities, and connecting to community resources.

The Single Mothers’ Family Breakthrough project was an extension of our feeding and caring ministries, which have helped relieve the immediate basic needs of those who are less fortunate in our community.  It provided an opportunity to take us one step further in walking with women and their families toward their goals for economic self-sufficiency.

The Salvation Army Community & Family Services continues to support families in our community with regular services below:

  • Breakfast Drop-in: Mon, Wed, Fri  9:00 – 10:00 am
  • Moms & Tots: Tue, 10:30 am – 12:00 noon
  • Clothing Bank: 2nd & 4th Thurs, 10:30 – 3:00 pm
  • Women in Touch: Wed, 10:30 am – 12:15 pm

Individuals could also access other support services by appointments, such as Emergency Basic Needs Support, Clinical Counselling, Personal Development Support (Moving Forward), and Anger Management program.
